Our Story

Founded in 2014, Fundación de los Amigos del Medio Ambiente (FAMA) is an Argentine NGO dedicated to the advocacy for harmonious coexistence of humans and other species, the balance between economic growth and environmental sustainability, and the awareness of ecological consequences of natural resources extraction.

FAMA is actively engaged in regional and international initiatives to raise public awareness of the devasting impact on the future of mankind of tropical deforestation, ocean pollution, biodiversity degradation, greenhouse gas emission and global warming.

FAMA has been working closely with local communities, environmental activists, academic researchers, NGOs and government agencies across Latin America and the Caribbeans to find solutions to some of the most acute environmental issues facing these countries and extensively participated in or encouraged public debate on environmental policies.
